OVER 400

BUDDIES
IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS

THE PROJECT
Since December 2013, The Buddy Project has been providing stuffed animals and blankets to children affected by traumatic events.
Blanket Buddies
The Buddy Project started by donating stuffed animals and small fleece blankets to fire/police stations, hospitals, and foster care groups. Each Blanket Buddy is a medium-sized stuffed animal wrapped in a blanket approximately 20" by 20". These blankets are either fleece or knitted.
Card Buddies
Card Buddies are small stuffed animals donated with a handmade card. These are donated to local hospitals to bring joy to patients.
Buddies
Some stuffed animals are donated without blankets or cards. These animals are donated when the blanket supply is low or if they are extra large.
Superhero Buddies
Superhero Buddies are medium-sized stuffed animals donated with a child-sized superhero hat. Each buddy has a costume that corresponds to the superhero and that matches the hat. They also come with a picture and description of the superhero. These are inspired by the DC superheroes portrayed on the CW, from the shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Children aren't immune from injury, maltreatment, or loneliness.
Stuffed animals have many therapeutic purposes for children. They can serve as a constant for children moving between foster homes. They can be a friend when a child feels they can't trust anyone. They can offer comfort in painful situations.
